THE OMEGAVIA DIFFERENCE

600 mg of Fish-Free DHA. Tested for 200+ Contaminants. Built for Every Stage.

Most prenatal vitamins contain 200 to 400 mg of DHA per serving. Current research points to 600 mg as a better target for higher omega-3 levels which can provide meaningful fetal brain and eye support.* Prenatal Omega-3 DHA delivers the full 600 mg per softgel, sourced entirely from algae oil so there is no fish, no mercury exposure from the supply chain, and no fishy burps to manage on top of morning sickness.

Every batch is independently tested by multiple labs for more than 200 contaminants and IAOS certified for purity, potency, and freshness. You know exactly what you are giving yourself and your baby. The enteric coating means the softgel dissolves in your small intestine rather than your stomach, keeping the experience as gentle as possible throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. You can look up your specific bottle before you open it.

WHAT’S INSIDE

Nothing To Hide On The Label

Ingredients

Omega Oil from Algae (Schizochytrum sp.) 857 mg, DHA Omega-3 (Docosahexaenoic Acid) 600 mg. Other Ingredients: Bovine Gelatin, Vegetable Glycerin, Purified Water, Vegetable Enteric Coating (Alginate, Stearic Acid), Mixed Plant Tocopherols.

Sourced from sustainably harvested algae oil from Norway. All ingredients are non-bioengineered (non-BE), often called non-GMO.

Allergy Information

This product is 100% fish-free. It is safe for people with fish or shellfish allergies, subject to the facility note below.

Does not contain: dairy, eggs, corn, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat/gluten, soy protein, sugar, yeast, artificial colors, or flavors. All ingredients are non-bioengineered (non-BE), often called non-GMO.

Storage

• Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration is not required.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage

• Take 1 softgel per day with a meal while pregnant and breastfeeding.

Best if taken daily with food. Omega-3 builds up in your cells over time, so consistency is where the results compound.

Consult your OB/GYN or healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The Reason You Won't Get Fishy Burps

Fishy burps are the number one reason people give up on Omega-3s.

OmegaVia softgels use an enteric coating, a thin protective layer that resists stomach acid and dissolves in the intestine instead, where Omega-3 is absorbed and where it belongs. No fishy burps. No aftertaste.

Most burpless Omega-3s rely on flavoring to mask the problem. An enteric coating addresses it at the source. Not a flavoring trick. A design decision.

***Note: Antacids and heartburn medication may reduce the effectiveness of the enteric coating.

Sourcing & Testing Transparency

Fish-Free from Source to Softgel. Tested at Every Step.

Prenatal Omega-3 DHA starts with algae oil, the original source of DHA in the marine food chain. Because it bypasses fish entirely, there is no risk of mercury, PCB, or other ocean contaminant exposure from the oil itself. It is then concentrated to 600 mg of DHA per softgel and encapsulated with an enteric coating to support gentle digestion throughout pregnancy.

Every batch is independently tested by multiple labs for more than 200 contaminants before it reaches you. We don't release a batch until it clears. That is the standard we hold ourselves to for every OmegaVia product, and it matters most here.

What Makes Every Batch Different

  •
Algae-sourced DHA: bypasses fish and ocean contaminant risk entirely
  •
Independently tested for 200+ contaminants per batch, including mercury and PCBs
  •
Enteric-coated for gentle digestion, formulated with morning sickness in mind
  •
Fish-free: safe for people avoiding fish due to allergy or dietary preference
  •
Safe throughout pregnancy, all three trimesters, and breastfeeding
  •
Certified by Nutrasource IAOS Program: OmegaVia is the first brand to earn this certification for quality, purity, potency, and freshness

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about dosage, sourcing, testing, and how OmegaVia works.

What is the difference between Prenatal Omega-3 DHA and DHA 600?

OmegaVia offers a range of omega-3 supplements, including Prenatal Omega-3 DHA and DHA 600. The Prenatal Omega-3 DHA is designed to support the baby's brain, eye, and nervous system development. It is safe to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding, though you should talk to your doctor before use.

Both the Prenatal Omega-3 DHA and DHA 600 from OmegaVia contain 600 mg of DHA omega-3 per softgel. The DHA 600 softgels are 10 calories each compared to 5 calories in each Prenatal Omega-3 DHA softgel. If you're trying to increase your omega-3 consumption to support prenatal health, either option is suitable. The key difference between them is that the Prenatal Omega-3 DHA does not contain fish. It's 100% fish free and made from algae oil, while the DHA 600 is made from fish oil.

Is algae-based DHA as effective as fish oil DHA for fetal development?

Consuming enough omega-3s, including DHA, is especially important during pregnancy. Omega-3 fatty acids play a key role in fetal development, particularly the development of the eyes and brain. Eating fish is one way to get these essential omega-3s, but it's not the only way.

You can also take a fish oil omega-3 supplement or an algae-based DHA supplement, like OmegaVia's Prenatal Omega-3. Fish oil supplements often contain both DHA and EPA, while algae-based omega-3 supplements primarily contain DHA. More research is needed into the benefits of DHA supplements during pregnancy. But, if you're looking for a way to increase your DHA consumption while pregnant without fish, algae-based DHA is a great option.

Does prenatal omega-3 contain EPA as well as DHA?

EPA and DHA are both essential long-chain omega-3s. When you're considering supplement options, read the supplement facts on the bottle and pay close attention to the exact ingredients. Some omega-3 supplements contain both EPA and DHA, while others specifically contain one or the other.

OmegaVia's Prenatal Omega-3 contains 300 mg of vegan DHA omega-3 in each softgel. Many fish-free prenatal omega-3 supplements are derived from algae oil, so their nutrient profiles are different from fish oil omega-3 supplements. While fish oil supplements generally have EPA and DHA, vegan supplements typically only have DHA. If you take a vegan omega-3 supplement, you may need to look for a different source of EPA to make sure you're consuming enough of that essential nutrient.

How much DHA should I take per day?

The amount you should consume of any nutrient, including DHA, depends on many personal factors. Your age, height, weight, sex, activity level, and any medical conditions you’re dealing with can all play a role.

There are still general guidelines, though, developed by the Institute of Medicine, Food and Nutrition Board. For example, the adequate intake level, the amount assumed to provide an adequate nutritional level, for females ages 19 to 50 is 1.1 g per day of ALA (Alpha-Linolenic Acid). The American Heart Association recommends about 1 g per day of EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA combined for those with existing coronary heart disease.

When it comes to deciding how much DHA specifically you should take, start with a lower dose and go up from there.

Is OmegaVia Prenatal Omega-3 safe during pregnancy?

OmegaVia's Prenatal Omega-3 supplement is generally considered safe to use while pregnant. Before taking any new medications or supplements during pregnancy or when breastfeeding, it's a good idea to talk to your doctor and be sure it's safe and aligned with your needs and wellness goals.

Omega-3 fatty acid consumption, including through supplements, can help support a healthy pregnancy. Consuming omega-3s during pregnancy is associated with better neurodevelopment for the child. Seafood is a good source of omega-3, but eating too much during pregnancy creates a risk of mercury toxicity. Taking omega-3 supplements to ensure you get enough omega-3s during pregnancy is an appealing option.

Can vegans and vegetarians take this product?

OmegaVia’s Prenatal Omega-3 DHA contains gelatin, an ingredient derived from animal collagen that vegetarians and vegans do not generally eat.

However, OmegaVia has a vegan omega-3 supplement option. If you’re a vegan or vegetarian looking for a vegan prenatal DHA supplement, consider OmegaVia’s Vegan Omega-3. The Vegan Omega-3 supplement from OmegaVia is 100% fish-free and uses plant-based gelatin rather than traditional animal-based gelatin. Each softgel has 300 mg of DHA omega-3 compared to the 600 mg in OmegaVia’s prenatal DHA supplement, so consider taking two Vegan Omega-3 softgels daily to support prenatal health.
